like a breath, I moved with you

it was silly, too vulnerable
to be pumping blood out there with you
my ship pretty much tied to yours
like we were floating on a red sea
a dead sea, too salty, too dense yet a totally
buoyant sea - that's how you felt to me
like buoyancy, my tongue censored to a delicacy
but you were foreign to me
totally & completely new to me
but also old to me, like fear to me
you were like the feeling of fear

I was in the cave with you

I thought that I could balance you
I saw so much glowing inside of you
amidst all the darkness, there were crystals in you
amidst all the crystals, there was darkness too
& I wanted to explore all the pathways in you
how the sunlight refracted off the walls of you
how rays bent & prayed to be frayed by you
your seams gleaming with bursting beams
I thought I knew you but I didn't know
anything
I saw your sign and it said
nothing
I didn't know where you led me
till you left me
there

you surprised me when you found me
but you lost me
